With over 30 years of experience in grading, underground utilities, and comprehensive site development, Fred Kitchens is a seasoned veteran of the Southern United States construction landscape. His career is defined by a deep-rooted understanding of the industry, a commitment to operational excellence, and a proven track record of scaling heavy civil firms from the ground up.

A Legacy of Expertise

Fred’s journey began in the late 1990s, cutting his teeth as a Project Manager for his father’s general contracting firm. It was here that he mastered the complexities of estimating and scheduling projects across the Southeast.

In 2000, Fred launched his first contracting venture, beginning a decade-long chapter of independent business ownership. He later brought his leadership to The Site Development Company of Georgia as Vice President (2009–2013), where he was solely responsible for overseeing all company operations.

In 2013, Fred established F.M. Kitchens Construction Services, LLC. Under his visionary leadership, the firm has seen explosive, sustainable growth:

  • The Team: Expanded to a dedicated workforce of over 50 employees.

  • The Fleet: Manages and maintains an impressive inventory of over 100 operating units.

  • The Scope: Achieved an annual revenue of approximately $30,000,000, delivering turnkey site development projects ranging from $100k to over $10M.

Technical Leadership & Qualifications

Fred remains a hands-on leader, directly overseeing day-to-day operations, including estimating, scheduling, and project management. His technical foundation is backed by academic and professional credentials:

  • Education: Studied Construction Management at Southern Polytechnic University.

  • Licensure: Licensed Utility Manager and Utility Contractor since 2004.
